Instructions:
Step 1: Make the Meat Sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until softened.
Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and Parmesan cheese until combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce.
Layer 3 lasagna noodles, followed by ⅓ of the ricotta mixture, ⅓ of the meat sauce, and ⅓ of the mozzarella.
Repeat layers two more times, finishing with mozzarella on top.
Step 4: Bake and Serve
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let cool for 10 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
